How to pay with BTC on Bitcoin
From your own wallet
- 01Make sure your wallet holds enough BTC for the amount plus the network fee (set by your wallet, higher when the network is busy).
- 02On the payment page, choose BTC on Bitcoin and keep the page open.
- 03In BlueWallet (or any Bitcoin wallet), tap Send and choose BTC.
- 04Scan the QR code: it fills in the address and the exact amount. Or copy both from the page.
- 05Type the amount exactly, to the last digit. For most coins the last digits are unique to your order.
- 06Check the first and last 4 characters of the address (Starts with bc1) and that the amount matches to the last digit.
- 07Pick a normal or fast fee, not the slowest, then confirm.
- 08Keep the page open. It updates itself: “Payment seen” first, then “Paid” after about 10 to 30 minutes.
From an exchange
- 01On the payment page, choose BTC on Bitcoin, then press “Paying from an exchange?”. You get an address-only QR code and copy buttons.
- 02In your exchange, open Withdraw (sometimes “Send”) and choose BTC.
- 03For the network, choose Bitcoin or BTC (not Lightning, not BEP20). This is the step most mistakes happen in.
- 04Paste the address. Exchanges sometimes ask for a memo or tag: leave it empty, this address doesn’t need one.
- 05For the amount, enter the amount due plus the exchange’s withdrawal fee, so the full amount arrives. The fee helper below does the sum. If the form shows “You will receive”, make that equal the amount due.
- 06Confirm with your 2FA code or email link. Exchanges can hold a withdrawal for a few minutes, sometimes longer for a first withdrawal to a new address.
Common mistakes
- Setting a very low fee: the payment can wait for hours and the price window may close.
- Sending “BTC” on BEP20 from an exchange. Only the Bitcoin network works.
