How to Buy ChatGPT Plus with Crypto: A Step-by-Step Guide for 2026
OpenAI doesn’t take crypto, but you can still pay for ChatGPT Plus or Pro with USDT, Bitcoin or Monero. How it works, what it costs and what to check first.
OpenAI doesn’t accept crypto. Its help center lists the ways you can pay for ChatGPT: cards, bank debit through Link in the UK and EEA, and a handful of local methods such as UPI, Pix and GoPay. There’s no Bitcoin, no USDT and no PayPal on the web.
That leaves two groups of people stuck. The first has a card that keeps getting declined, usually because the bank blocks foreign online payments or 3-D Secure fails. The second simply doesn’t want a card statement and a billing address attached to their AI account. Both can still get ChatGPT Plus. They just need someone in the middle who takes crypto and handles the payment to OpenAI.
This guide explains how that works, which plan to pick, what you’ll pay, and the mistakes that cost people time.
Which ChatGPT plan should you buy?
OpenAI now sells six consumer plans. These are the US prices as of October 2026:
| Plan | Price per month | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Casual use, with tight limits on deep research, image creation and uploads |
| Go | $8 | Light users who want more messages than Free. Ads are being tested on Free and Go |
| Plus | $20 | Most people who use ChatGPT for work or study |
| Pro 100 | $100 | People who run into Plus limits most days, or use Codex heavily |
| Pro 200 | $200 | Heavier daily use than Pro 100 |
| Pro 500 | $500 | The highest limits, plus the fastest response mode |
Plus is the plan most people should start with. It includes the advanced reasoning models, deep research, voice, image creation, projects and custom GPTs, with much higher limits than Free. OpenAI bills it monthly only. There’s no annual discount on the official site.
The three Pro tiers all include the Pro models, Codex, deep research, image creation and memory. What changes between them is how much you can use before you hit a limit, and only Pro 500 gets the fastest response mode. If you’ve never seen a “limit reached” message on Plus, you don’t need Pro.
We sell Plus, Pro 100 and Pro 200 for accounts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.
Your options for paying with crypto
There are really only two ways to get crypto into a ChatGPT subscription.
A crypto debit card. Several exchanges issue Visa or Mastercard cards that sell your crypto at the moment you pay. To OpenAI it looks like any other card, which is the problem: if your card was being declined, a crypto card can be declined for the same reasons. You also go through the card issuer’s identity checks, and the card company sees every merchant you pay.
A reseller that activates the plan for you. You pay the reseller in crypto, and the reseller pays for the plan on your account. Done properly, you end up with a normal subscription on your own ChatGPT login, with your chats, memory and custom GPTs where you left them.
If you go the reseller route, check four things before you send anything:
- The plan goes on your own account. Avoid anything that hands you a shared login or a “lifetime” account. Those break OpenAI’s rules and tend to stop working without warning.
- The vendor’s price is shown. You should be able to see what OpenAI charges and what the reseller adds on top.
- There’s a refund if delivery fails. Look for a clear deadline, not a vague promise.
- You don’t need to hand over more than an email. A ChatGPT plan doesn’t require your name, ID or password.
Step by step: paying for ChatGPT with crypto here
This is how it works on PayAIwithCrypto. The whole thing takes about ten minutes, plus the wait for your coin to confirm.
- Open the ChatGPT page and pick your account’s country. Choose the country your ChatGPT account is registered in: the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Italy or the Netherlands. The plan is prepared for that country, so picking a different one to save money won’t work.
- Choose the plan and how long you want it. Plus comes in 3, 6 or 12 months (6 or 12 for Canadian accounts). Pro 100 and Pro 200 start at one month. Longer terms cost less: 10% off for 2 months, 15% for 3, 20% for 6 and 30% for 12. It’s one payment, and we never charge you again.
- Go to checkout and enter your email. We send your order link and the activation steps there. That’s the only personal detail we ask for, and it’s erased 14 days after delivery.
- Pick a coin. USDT on TRON, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon or Solana, USDC, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Monero, Litecoin and more. The how to pay guide walks through each one.
- Send the exact amount shown. The last digits of the amount tell us which order the payment belongs to, so don’t round it. If you pay from an exchange, add the exchange’s withdrawal fee on top so the full amount arrives.
- Wait for the confirmation. The order page updates by itself. USDT on TRON confirms in about a minute. Bitcoin takes 10 to 30 minutes depending on the fee you choose.
- Follow the activation steps. A person prepares your plan after the payment confirms, usually within a few hours. The steps appear on your private order page and in your email. If we can’t deliver within 24 hours, you get a full refund in the coin you paid with.
ChatGPT
OpenAIWhat it costs
Every price on our store is built the same way: OpenAI’s own price, minus the discount for longer terms, plus our service fee. All three appear before you pay. Here’s ChatGPT Plus for a US account:
| Term | OpenAI price | Discount | Service fee | You pay | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 months | $60.00 | −$9.00 (15%) | $5.10 | $56.10 | $18.70 |
| 6 months | $120.00 | −$24.00 (20%) | $9.60 | $105.60 | $17.60 |
| 12 months | $240.00 | −$72.00 (30%) | $14.08 | $182.08 | $15.17 |
So a year of Plus paid in crypto comes out cheaper per month than paying OpenAI $20 every month by card. Pro 100 for one month is $110.00 all-in: the $100 plan plus a $10 fee.
Accounts in other countries pay that country’s local price, converted to dollars. A UK account, for example, starts from £19.99 a month. We explain why those prices differ in what AI plans cost in each country.
Which coin should you pay with?
If you already hold a coin, use it. Swapping first costs more than any difference in network fees.
If you’re starting from scratch, these are the sensible choices:
- USDT is the simplest. One USDT is worth about a dollar, so the amount you send matches the price. TRON is the most common network for it, but in 2026 it’s no longer the cheapest. Sending USDT from your own wallet costs a cent or less on BNB Smart Chain, Polygon or Solana, against about $2 to $4.50 in TRX on TRON. We compared them in the cheapest way to send USDT.
- Bitcoin works from any wallet or exchange. Choose a normal network fee rather than the lowest, or the payment can sit unconfirmed for hours.
- Monero is the most private option. It hides the sender, receiver and amount on its blockchain. More on that in how to pay for AI privately.
Mistakes that slow people down
- Paying on the wrong network. USDT on TRON and USDT on Ethereum are not interchangeable. Pick the same network on the payment page and in your wallet or exchange.
- Forgetting the exchange fee. Exchanges take their withdrawal fee out of the amount you send. If the order says 56.12 USDT and the fee is 1 USDT, enter 57.12.
- Sending after the payment window closes. The price is locked for a set time, shown on your order page. We keep watching the address for 24 hours after that, and a full payment that arrives late is still accepted.
- Leaving an old subscription running. If you already pay for ChatGPT, cancel that first. If you subscribed in the iPhone or Android app, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play, not on the website.
- Choosing the wrong country. The plan has to match the country your ChatGPT account is in.
Questions people ask
Is it a real ChatGPT Plus subscription?
Yes. It’s the same Plus or Pro plan OpenAI sells, active on your own account. We’re an independent service and aren’t affiliated with OpenAI.
Do I keep my chat history and custom GPTs?
Yes. Nothing about your account changes except the plan. You sign in to ChatGPT exactly as before.
What happens when the term ends?
We never charge you again, and your activation steps show how to make sure the plan doesn’t renew on its own. When the term is up, your account goes back to the free plan unless you buy another term here or subscribe with OpenAI directly.
Do I need to verify my identity?
No. There’s no account on our site and no ID check. We only need an email for the order link and activation steps.
Can I pay for ChatGPT with Bitcoin specifically?
Yes. Bitcoin on-chain is one of the payment options at checkout, along with USDT, USDC, Ethereum, Solana, Monero, Litecoin and others.
