Grammarly doesn’t accept crypto, and it doesn’t sell gift cards or gift subscriptions. It does accept prepaid cards when the issuing bank approves the charge, and it sells plans inside its iPhone and Android apps. This page covers what Grammarly costs, every payment method it lists, and the options left if you’d rather pay in crypto.

The facts below were checked on October 7, 2026. Grammarly Inc. renamed itself Superhuman on October 29, 2025, so Grammarly’s help pages now say “Grammarly is now part of Superhuman” and the App Store seller is Superhuman Platform Inc. We found no change to Grammarly Pro’s list prices in 2026.

Prices are per member, in US dollars, with tax charged separately where it applies. Grammarly offers regional pricing in euros, British pounds and Indian rupees, shown at checkout on grammarly.com/upgrade/pro, but it publishes no fixed euro or pound prices. A Pro plan can have up to 149 seats, each at the same rate.

Grammarly Premium, the older plan, remains available through the App Store and Google Play, with 1,000 generative AI prompts a month. On the web, Premium users were moved to Pro starting March 2025 “at no extra cost”.

There’s also a second route to Grammarly Pro. The Superhuman suite’s Pro plan costs $12 a member a month billed annually, or $15 billed monthly. Grammarly’s help center says the “Annual plan includes Grammarly Pro access”, while on the monthly plan Grammarly Pro is an add-on for another $15 a month.

Students can get 50% off Grammarly Pro through SheerID verification, “for a limited time”. The discount covers the first seat for one subscription period, after which the plan renews at the standard rate.

How Grammarly takes payment

Grammarly’s help article “Which payment methods are accepted?” lists every option. Cards “must be enabled for recurring e-commerce transactions.”

Payment methodAccepted?
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, UnionPay)Yes
Prepaid cardsYes, if the issuing bank approves the charge
PayPalYes, where it’s available in your region
Apple Pay and Google PayYes
UPIYes
Crypto (Bitcoin, USDT and others)No
Gift cards or gift subscriptionsNo, Grammarly doesn’t offer them
App Store (iPhone, iPad)Yes
Google Play (Android)Yes
Invoice and bank transferBusiness plans for 10 or more members, billed annually
Visa Electron, Maestro, Interac, checks, cashNo

In the iPhone and iPad app, Grammarly says the only payment option is Apple Pay, and in the Android app it’s Google Pay. Invoices can be paid by bank transfer, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, but not PayPal.

Can you pay for Grammarly with crypto?

No. Crypto isn’t on any of Grammarly’s official payment lists. There are two legitimate routes.

Use a crypto debit or prepaid card. Grammarly says prepaid Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or UnionPay cards “will be accepted for payment if the bank that issued the card approves the authorization request”. A crypto card works like any other card at checkout, so Grammarly sees an ordinary card payment. It must allow recurring online charges, the issuer will ask for your ID, and it can be declined like any card. Our guide to declined AI subscription payments covers the usual reasons.

Subscribe in the app. The Grammarly iPhone app, “Grammarly: AI Keyboard & Voice”, sells a Monthly Plan at $29.99, a Quarterly Plan at $59.99 and an Annual Plan at $139.99 in the US App Store. It also lists Mobile Only plans at $17.99 a month, and $83.99 or $119.99 a year. Apple charges your Apple Account balance before your card, though some subscriptions can’t be paid from balance. Google Play also sells Grammarly in the Android app. Grammarly says the older Premium plan is still sold through both app stores, so check which plan you’re buying. Grammarly’s discounts and promo offers can’t be applied to App Store or Google Play purchases.

What you shouldn’t do is buy a cheap “Grammarly Premium account” or “Grammarly gift card” on a marketplace. These aren’t official, and shared or resold accounts break Grammarly’s terms. Promo codes are no better: “If you found a promo code online, it is not a promotional offer from Grammarly.”

Gift cards and paying for someone else

Grammarly’s help center says: “Grammarly does not offer gift subscriptions, lifetime plans, or one-time plans.” So there is no official Grammarly gift card, and any you see for sale doesn’t come from Grammarly.

If you want to pay for someone else, you can add them as a seat on your own Pro plan. Pro plans allow up to 149 seats, and each extra seat costs the same per-seat rate, prorated.

Does Grammarly accept PayPal?

Yes, “provided it is available in your region.” PayPal can’t be used to pay invoices for Business plans.
