Midjourney makes AI images and video, and its website takes only cards and a few digital wallets, through Stripe. There’s no crypto, no PayPal and no gift card. This page sets out Midjourney pricing, the ways you can pay, and the closest alternatives you can buy with crypto.

We checked everything below on October 7, 2026. We found no official price or billing changes in 2026, so these are Midjourney’s long-standing prices, all in US dollars.

Midjourney plans and prices

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyWhat it’s for
Basic$10$8 a month ($96 a year)3.3 hours (200 minutes) of Fast GPU time, no Relax mode
Standard$30$24 a month ($288 a year)15 Fast hours, plus unlimited images in Relax mode
Pro$60$48 a month ($576 a year)30 Fast hours, unlimited Relax images and SD video, Stealth mode
Mega$120$96 a month ($1,152 a year)60 Fast hours, with the same Relax and Stealth extras as Pro

Yearly plans are paid upfront, and Midjourney calls the saving “a 20% discount”. Every plan renews automatically until you set it to cancel.

Prices are in US dollars only. If you pay in another currency, “your bank will automatically convert your payment to USD”, and Stripe adds any sales tax or VAT at checkout. There are no separate UK or EU prices.

A few rules decide which plan you need:

  • Stealth mode, which keeps your images and videos private, comes only with Pro and Mega.
  • A company making more than $1,000,000 a year in gross revenue must buy Pro or Mega.
  • Extra Fast GPU time costs $4 an hour on every plan. It needs an active subscription, expires after 60 days and can’t be refunded.
  • There’s no free trial on the website or in Discord. The niji・journey app has a limited one, listed as “20 free generations”.

How Midjourney takes payment

Midjourney’s billing help lists “major credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express”, plus Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Alipay, Google Pay and Link in some regions. As it puts it, “The options you see during checkout are the ones available to you.” You subscribe from the Manage Subscription page at midjourney.com/account and pay in Stripe’s checkout.

On PayPal the help center is plain: “Unfortunately, PayPal isn’t currently supported.” Payments go only through Stripe, and “our billing support team can’t help set up any alternatives”.

Can you pay for Midjourney with crypto?

Not on midjourney.com. Crypto isn’t mentioned anywhere in Midjourney’s billing docs, and it wasn’t in 2022 either, when the docs said “We only accept debit and credit cards.” There’s no crypto processor, coin list or wallet address.

That leaves two honest options.

Subscribe in the niji・journey app. There is no Midjourney-branded app. niji・journey, Midjourney’s anime art app, is published on the App Store by Midjourney, Inc. (on Google Play the listing is under Spellbrush). In the US App Store it sells Mini at $4.99, Basic at $9.99, Standard at $29.99 and Pro at $59.99 a month, plus Fast hours from $3.99 for one hour to $39.99 for ten. niji’s help center says: “Both niji・journey and Midjourney share the same subscription plan.” Apple bills you, and Apple charges your Apple Account balance before your card, though it notes that some subscriptions can’t be paid from balance.

Know the limits before you rely on it:

  • The app sells monthly plans only. “Annual and mega plans can only be purchased through the website.”
  • The $4.99 Mini plan “is only available on the mobile app”, and we couldn’t confirm whether it gives you anything on midjourney.com.
  • Midjourney’s own help center doesn’t describe App Store billing. The shared-plan statement comes from niji’s help center.
  • One Reddit user describes subscribing in the niji・journey app with PayPal through Google Play, then using Midjourney. That fits niji’s statement, but Midjourney hasn’t confirmed it.

Use a crypto debit card. Cards from crypto exchanges sell your coins at the moment you pay, and Midjourney sees an ordinary card. Midjourney’s docs don’t mention prepaid or virtual cards. The card issuer will ask for your ID, and the card can be declined like any other.

What you shouldn’t do is buy a ready-made “Midjourney account” or subscription from a marketplace. Midjourney’s Community Guidelines say “each user may maintain only one account” and ban reselling access to the service, adding: “this includes sharing your account”.

Gift cards and paying for someone else

Midjourney doesn’t offer gift cards, gift subscriptions or prepaid codes. Its billing help has no gift article, and we found no sign that an official gift option ever existed. The Midjourney Store sells magazine subscriptions, back issues and the “Year One” book, but no gift card.

The “Midjourney gift cards” from Rewarble, and the shops that resell them, are not Midjourney products. Rewarble’s own page says “Midjourney does not have its own native gift card system”. Its voucher funds a virtual Visa card.

There’s no self-serve team plan either. Companies buying in bulk can ask billing support about other ways to pay. For one person, Midjourney offers no official route. As one Reddit answer puts it: “the only option I found was just offering to pay for it.”

Alternatives you can pay for with crypto

If you want an AI that makes images, two of the plans we sell cover it, and you can pay for them in USDT, Bitcoin, Monero and other coins:

  • ChatGPT Plus includes “more complex and accurate image creation” and image generation with Thinking. ChatGPT Go vs Plus vs Pro compares the plans.
  • SuperGrok includes Grok Imagine for images and 720p video, closer to Midjourney’s mix of stills and clips. Our Grok pricing guide explains the tiers.

Questions people ask

Does Midjourney accept PayPal?

No. Midjourney’s billing help says “PayPal isn’t currently supported”, and checkout runs only through Stripe, with cards and some digital wallets.

Can I pay for Midjourney with crypto or Bitcoin?

Not directly. Midjourney takes no crypto. For individuals, the only billing outside Stripe is App Store or Google Play billing in the niji・journey app.

Can I gift a Midjourney subscription?

No. Midjourney has no gift cards, gift subscriptions or prepaid codes. Third-party “Midjourney gift cards” are vouchers for a virtual Visa card.

Is there a Midjourney free trial?

Not on the website or in Discord. The niji・journey mobile app has a limited trial, listed on the App Store as 20 free generations.

Do I pay for Midjourney in US dollars?

Yes. On midjourney.com every plan is charged in USD. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the payment and may add fees.

Can I get a refund on Midjourney?

Only if you’ve used fewer than 20 GPU minutes in total. The refund option then appears when you cancel. If you don’t see it, Midjourney says it can’t refund you.
