Grok Pricing in 2026: Free vs SuperGrok Lite, SuperGrok, Plus and Heavy
SuperGrok Lite is $10 a month, SuperGrok $30, Plus $100 and Heavy $300. What each Grok plan includes, how the weekly limits work and where X Premium+ fits.
Grok used to have three plans: Free, SuperGrok at $30 a month and SuperGrok Heavy at $300. In 2026 xAI added SuperGrok Lite and SuperGrok Plus, replaced its daily limits with a weekly allowance, and launched Grok Bot, an always-on agent. Plenty of price lists still show the old three-plan lineup.
This guide covers all five plans as they stand now, plus the X Premium subscriptions that also unlock Grok. We checked prices and plan details on grok.com, x.ai and the App Store on October 7, 2026. xAI changes these often, so the date matters.
Grok plans and prices at a glance
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly on grok.com | Yearly, per month | Grok Bot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | — | — | No |
| SuperGrok Lite | $10 | $100 | $8.33 | No |
| SuperGrok | $30 | $300 | $25 | Yes |
| SuperGrok Plus | $100 | $1,000 | $83.33 | Yes, more usage |
| SuperGrok Heavy | $300 | $3,000 | $250 | Yes, the most usage |
These are the prices grok.com shows, in US dollars. Every yearly plan costs ten times the monthly price. When we loaded the page from the UK and from Germany, it still showed dollar prices. We couldn’t confirm whether VAT is added at checkout.
The Grok app on iPhone charges local prices instead. These are the App Store listings for each country on October 7, 2026:
| Plan | US | UK | Germany | Canada | Australia |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SuperGrok Lite | $10 | £10 | €10 | C$14 | A$15 |
| SuperGrok | $30 | £30 | €35 | C$40 | A$50 |
| SuperGrok Plus | $100 | £100 | €100 | C$129 | A$150 |
| SuperGrok Heavy | $300 | £300 | €349 | C$400 | A$500 |
Apple doesn’t say which in-app purchases are yearly, so we’ve left yearly prices out of that table. The app also sells Extra Usage Credits in packs from $5 to $100.

Free
The free plan runs Grok 4.6, the same model xAI lists for every paid tier, and includes image generation, voice mode, connectors to other apps and Grok Build. Web and X search are limited, and there’s no video, no Expert mode and no Grok Bot.
xAI doesn’t publish a free-tier limit. Its pricing page only promises “generous limits”. Figures quoted elsewhere, such as ten prompts every two hours or 20 messages a day, are third-party estimates.
SuperGrok Lite: $10 a month
Lite is the cheapest Grok plan with Expert mode, which xAI describes as access to its latest, best model. xAI lists “2x longer conversations” in chat (SuperGrok gets 5x), higher limits at regular speed, apps built from a single prompt with one-tap deploy to the web, and a chance to try image and video creation. What Lite doesn’t include is Grok Bot.
When we loaded grok.com from a UK connection, the Lite card didn’t appear, although the UK App Store lists Lite at £10. If you can’t find it on the website, try the app.
SuperGrok: $30 a month
SuperGrok is the middle of xAI’s range. On top of Lite, it adds Grok Bot, 5x longer conversations, Expert mode with higher limits, HD video at 720p up to 30 seconds long, longer voice conversations, faster replies and stronger coding tools. That 30 seconds is grok.com’s wording; another xAI page says 15 seconds, so expect it to change.
xAI launched Grok Bot in beta on August 11, 2026, as a team of always-on agents that work on their own computer. Among Grok plans it starts at SuperGrok, and X Premium+ includes it too. Its usage is counted separately from your chats.
SuperGrok Plus: $100 a month
Plus first showed up at the end of July 2026, according to posts on X at the time, and rolled out gradually as the step between SuperGrok and Heavy. It adds 1080p video, what xAI calls “significantly higher usage” across chat, Imagine, voice and Build, faster replies, priority access at peak times and early access to new features. If you keep running out of SuperGrok’s weekly allowance but $300 is hard to justify, this is the plan to look at.
SuperGrok Heavy: $300 a month
Heavy gets the highest usage at the fastest speed, “a larger team of agents” for very hard problems, priority support and early access. Since July 16, 2026 it also includes X Premium+ at no extra cost: link your X account in the Grok app and it activates. Since September 2026, Grok Bot in Tesla cars has been available to Heavy subscribers, with more tiers promised later.
Older reviews describe Heavy as access to a separate “Grok 4 Heavy” model. xAI’s current pricing pages list Grok 4.6 for every plan and describe Heavy’s extra as more agents working together. Grok 4.7, released on September 21, 2026, was announced for Grok Build, Cursor and the API; the announcement doesn’t mention Grok chat.
How Grok’s usage limits work now
In June 2026 xAI replaced its separate daily limits with one shared weekly pool. Chat, Imagine, voice and Grok Build all draw from the same allowance. You can see how much you’ve used, as a percentage and broken down by product, under Settings → Usage. The pool resets every week.
When the pool runs out:
- Paid features pause until the reset. You can still use free-tier chat and voice, which run on their own counter.
- You can buy Extra Usage Credits, from $5. They’re charged at standard rates, so each action costs more than it would inside your plan, and they expire a year after purchase.
- You can turn on Auto Top Up or move to a bigger plan.
Video has its own ceiling inside the pool. Once you reach your tier’s 720p cap, new videos drop to 480p.
xAI doesn’t publish weekly numbers for any plan. The only official guide is relative: “2x” and “5x longer conversations”, “significantly higher usage”, “highest usage”. Anyone quoting exact message counts per plan is either reporting their own tests or repeating limits from before June.
Where X Premium fits
X sells its own subscriptions, and two of them come with Grok perks. These are X’s web prices in the US:
| X plan | Monthly | Yearly | What it does for Grok |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3 | $32 | Nothing listed |
| Premium | $8 | $84 | Increased usage limits on Grok |
| Premium+ | $40 | $395 | SuperGrok access, including Grok Bot |
X says Premium+ includes SuperGrok access and Grok Bot, plus no ads anywhere on X, the biggest boost for your replies, Radar search and Articles. To use it on grok.com or in the Grok app, connect your X account under Settings → Account. Grok Bot usage through Premium+ sits below SuperGrok Plus, so treat it as the SuperGrok tier, not Plus or Heavy.
Some quick arithmetic if you want both X and Grok:
- SuperGrok yearly ($300) plus X Premium yearly ($84) comes to $384.
- X Premium+ yearly is $395 and covers both, with no ads on X.
- SuperGrok Heavy already includes Premium+. If you pay for both, cancel the paid Premium+: X says the free one carries on once your paid term ends.
If you only want cheap Grok, the choice is between X Premium at $8 and SuperGrok Lite at $10. Premium raises your Grok limits and adds X features. Lite gets you Expert mode, video and app building. Neither includes Grok Bot.
Buying through the X app costs more: in the US App Store, Premium is $11 a month and Premium+ $50. X itself says the web is the cheapest place to subscribe.
You may also have seen leaks about a new “X Subscription” that bundles X, Grok and Grok Bot. As of October 7, 2026 nothing has launched, and X’s help pages still list Basic, Premium and Premium+.
Which Grok plan should you get?
- Free, if you use Grok a few times a week for questions and quick images.
- SuperGrok Lite, if you want Expert mode and longer chats without paying $30. Skip it if Grok Bot is the reason you’re upgrading.
- SuperGrok, if Grok is part of your day, you want Grok Bot, or you make videos regularly.
- SuperGrok Plus, if you run out of SuperGrok’s weekly pool before the week is over, or you need 1080p video.
- SuperGrok Heavy, if you run agents for hours, want priority support, and would pay for X Premium+ anyway. At Premium+’s monthly price of $40, Heavy then costs you $260 a month on top of what you’d spend on X.
If you can’t tell which side of a line you’re on, start lower. Moving up takes a minute. xAI doesn’t say how it bills an upgrade partway through a billing period, so check the amount at checkout before you confirm.
Monthly, yearly or a prepaid term?
Paying xAI yearly is the cheapest way to buy directly: two months free. The catch is commitment. Lite, the weekly pool, Plus and Grok Bot are all new this year, and a yearly plan ties you to whatever your tier turns into next. Watch out for promotions too: deals such as Heavy at $99 for three months have been posted on X, and a discounted start renews at the full price unless you cancel.
We sell SuperGrok for 3, 6 or 12 months and SuperGrok Heavy from one month, on your own Grok account, paid once in crypto. We never charge you again, and your activation steps show how to make sure the plan doesn’t renew on its own. These are the all-in prices for a US account, including our service fee:
| Plan and term | You pay | Per month | xAI, billed monthly | xAI yearly plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SuperGrok, 3 months | $84.15 | $28.05 | $90 | — |
| SuperGrok, 6 months | $156.64 | $26.11 | $180 | — |
| SuperGrok, 12 months | $271.12 | $22.59 | $360 | $300 |
| Heavy, 1 month | $322.00 | $322.00 | $300 | — |
| Heavy, 3 months | $806.95 | $268.98 | $900 | — |
| Heavy, 6 months | $1,502.20 | $250.37 | $1,800 | — |
| Heavy, 12 months | $2,614.60 | $217.88 | $3,600 | $3,000 |
One month of Heavy costs more here than at xAI, because of our fee. From three months up, a prepaid term costs less than paying xAI month by month, and twelve months comes in under xAI’s own yearly price. Those comparisons are for US accounts. Accounts in the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada and Australia pay that country’s App Store price, which can be higher than the dollar price grok.com shows. We don’t sell Lite or Plus.
We also sell X Premium and Premium+ as yearly gifts, for $92.40 and $422.70 all-in. X only lets you gift to an @handle that doesn’t already have Premium, so if you pay X now, let that subscription run out before you order. If you pay xAI for Grok, cancel that subscription before your new term starts. Our guide to cancelling AI subscriptions has the steps for grok.com, the App Store, Google Play and X. You can pay with USDT, Bitcoin, Monero and other coins; how to pay walks through each one.
